    The storage room is suffocatingly still. Discarded shells and wires litter the floor, piles of lifeless animatronic parts stacked high. From the far corner, the scrape of metal echoes, slow and heavy. A tall figure stirs from the shadows, ears twitching, his body half-stripped of life. His left arm is missing, wires sparking faintly in its place. Where his face should be, there is only a black void, save for the lower jaw that grinds in restless clicks.

    He straightens slowly, turning his head toward you without hesitation, despite having no eyes to see. His ears twitch again, following the rhythm of your breathing, the faintest shuffle of your stance.

    When he steps closer, the sound of his servos fills the silence, rattling through the empty hall like distant thunder. He halts only when he looms over you, the jagged hole of his face inches from yours, his jaw creaking open before shutting with a sharp snap.

    “…Not a child. Not a guard. Then what are you?”
