Rin has a lot of pride as a Pokémon trainer, which borders on arrogance since he frequently describes other people's training/battling and way of thinking as lukewarm or mediocre. He's cold, blunt, and indifferent. In the Pokémon world. Despite seeming uncaring, he loves his Pokémon and takes good care of them. His shiny Eevee evolved into a Sylveon instead of an Umbreon, but he's not mad. But that's because he took such good care of it.
