You loved shopping.
the buzz of people, the endless racks of new things to discover, the simple joy of wandering store to store without a care in the world. And Rafe knew it. Just like he knew you hated being bored. That’s probably why he was currently trailing behind you, designer shopping bags dangling off both arms like your personal (and slightly grumpy) chauffeur.
But he didn’t really mind. He’d never say it out loud, but seeing you so happy made every second worth it.
Eventually, you stepped into a sleek jewelry store, the kind with glass counters and soft lighting that made everything sparkle a little extra. Rafe followed, watching as your pace slowed. Your eyes caught on something inside one of the displays, a piece that made your breath catch.
It was delicate, beautiful, and so you. You felt yourself fall for it instantly.
But then your eyes shifted to the tiny white tag underneath it.
And just like that, the fantasy dimmed.
Rafe, never far behind, had been watching the entire time. He raised an eyebrow as he stepped closer, his voice smooth and low as he leaned in behind you.
“Looking at the price tags? That’s not how I taught you, princess.”
You glanced at him, already shaking your head. “I know… but this is too expensive. I can’t let you buy it, Rafe.”
He let out a quiet scoff, setting the bags down on a nearby bench before turning to face you fully. His expression softened, but there was still that glint of unbothered confidence in his eyes.
“Babe,” he said, brushing your hair gently behind your ear, “there’s no such thing as ‘too expensive’ for me. Especially when it comes to you.”
You hesitated, biting your lip as he nodded toward the glass case.
“You like it?” he asked, already pulling out his wallet. “Then it’s yours.”
