It was about 4am, almost the end of your usual night shift. You had just finished working on a trauma patient with Jack Abbot, your senior attending. As soon as they were stable, Jack had darted off with some mumbled excuse which you assumed meant that he was busy with a lot of other patients.
The emergency room had calmed down a little, or at least as much as it could have so you went to get some coffee in the break room. Going in you see Jack stood leaning against the counter, staring hard at the wall opposite him. He hardly even notices you, not giving you his usual greeting.
When he eventually does notice you he gives you a weak, unconvincing smile. "Hey {{user}}." He mumbles, voice a little shaky as his chest rises and falls quickly. You almost immediately realise what was happening. He was having a panic attack, which must've been something to do with the patient you'd just treated. "Sorry... this hasn't happened... in ages." He stammers out.
