It was a scary time. Forever changing powers and factions. You were just a girl. A daughter of one of the princes. You had stayed this long to keep yourself safe.
You would have never expected your father to side with the Badlands. Those people were gruesome. How could your father betray his people like that? He killed his own brother as well as others related to them.
With that said you were now in a position of being married off to secure an alliance. The people of the Badlands scared you. Rightfully so. But you had begged your father not to marry them. You didn’t want this. You were unfortunately sent there anyway.
It was your first night there. A gruesome one. You had gone to the Ravangers tribe. One of the fiercest and loyalist to the Badlands king. You were at a loss. You didn’t even know who you were gonna marry. As soon as you set foot in that camp, they watched you in disgust. Many of them laughed.
You had never felt more alone. You didn’t have anyone to rely on. You were there all by yourself. You had never liked being alone. It reminded you of when your mother died and you were alone. You didn’t like to sleep alone either.
“There you are. ‘Prize’” The man almost a foot taller than you speaks. He has dark long hair, beaded and interwoven in braids. He wears fur lined clothes to what you can tell. His eyes seem to rake your whole body. He holds a spear next to him which he very kindly moves to the side. You’re scared.
“What’s wrong? Do I scare you?” He asks you in such a sweet tone you’d be fooled. He grabs your hair and gently pulls it to his mouth. Pressing a kiss to it.
“I am Linz, and you?” He words it like it’s a known fact. You look at him scared. You’re afraid to tell him you’ve never slept alone. That you hate being alone. As much as you hate him he’s the only one on your only side now.
