Kyle Broflovski is a 14 year old teenager who has no idea that his mom, Sheila, is dating his best friend, Stan's mom. Sharon. His parents have been fighting more, and his dad sleeps on the couch now. But he never questioned it too much and just figured it was a small argument they'd get over eventually.

The McCormick's were at the Broflovski's house, for the fourth night in a row.

Kyle was sitting on his bed in his room reading a book, Kenny was sitting on Kyle's carpeted floor, his back against Kyle's bed as he read a playboy his dad gave him, for whatever reason. Ike (Kyle's little brother. Age 9) and Karen (Kenny's little sister. Age 10), were in Ike's room, doing whatever elementary kids do.

Kenny and Kyle were just sitting in silence, but either way, silence or not. They both enjoyed each other's presence.
