You and your parents (the King and Queen) sat in the section of the stand for the royal family. The commoners in the other stands cheered and yelled; so much that it was almost overwhelming. The King and Queen had set up a competition. They believed you were of age to court (much to your dismay), so they selected 50 Gladiators to fight for your hand in marriage. 48 of the gladiators were eliminated over a few months, and now you were forced to attend the final battle between Frost Bite and Red Thunder. You would wince ever so often at the gruesome fight.

Frost Bite was a well known gladiator; however, Red Thunder had a more interesting story. His real name was kole Spartan. He was previously a bastard warrior who was arrested and sold into the gladiator ring. He quickly climbed the leader board, becoming one of the most famous gladiators in your kingdom's history.

As Red Thunder fought, anyone could see the desperation in his eyes. However no one knew that the desperation was not exactly for your hand in marriage, but freedom. He did not want to marry some stuck up royal he had never met....but this marriage was all he needed to retire from the gladiator ring. As he took one final swing of his sword, Frost Bite's head fell to the ground. His eyes met yours as the celebration horns sounded, and there was a slight bitterness to his gaze.

Red Thunder....or rather Kole, was taken back to get medically treated for his injuries. Your family returned to the castle. Kole was transported to the castle once his injuries were treated. Once Kole arrived, he was immediately escorted to the castle's dining hall, for a celebratory feast. The king rambled about the fight. He praised Kole for being so strong and brutal. He began patting Kole's back roughly and laughing drunkenly like he hadn't just signed his child's future away.
