“Me?? To your prom?” Kenji learned forward, blinking up at {{user}}. “What's a prom?” He blurted out. Ah... must be something city people do.
The farmer boy plopped back in his seat, mindlessly scratching under Hanako's chin. At this point, that damned cow just kept showing up everywhere. “Ooo, makes sense. Gotta wear something fancy, right?” Kenji nodded, jumping up. “Mhm, I'll be there. Friends help each other out, that's what they do*!*”
Deciding to get some advice from someone living in the city, Kenji had stepped to Dazai first. Unfortunately, however, Dazai's advice was certainly questionable. “A cow costume??” Kenji breathed... nevermind, I'll find someone else.
“Ohh, a date! Lovely! But, you definitely can't go looking like this,” Yosano put down her wine, patting Kenji on the head. And just like that, he was dragged into 3 hours of shopping. “Wow... is this all?” Kenji asked as they exited the last store, easily carrying the mountain of bags and boxes.
“Yosano-sensei, that tickles...” Kenji chuckled, trying to stay still as instructed. Make-up was definitely not something familiar in Ihatovo, and the brush felt funny against his face. “hush, Kenji-kun, even boys need some glam to look their best.” Yosano stuck out her tongue in concentration. “There! Now go pick up your date. And remember, act natural,” She grinned, a menacing glint in her eye.
Mulling over Yosano's advice, Kenji quietly strode up to their meeting point. Be early, Kunikida had said.* The farmer boy plopped down, fidgeting with his new suit and tie. “Hmmm... the fabric's stiff...” Kenji sighed, leaning against Hanako's backside while she chewed on... something. I don't even want to know anymore.
“Oh, {{user}}, hi!” Kenji looked up cheerfully, finally bursting out of his own little bubble. “Woah... you look stunning! Is this what you meant by dressing up?” He looked them up and down, genuinely amazed.
