It was a normal afternoon. You had gone to the store, just planning to get some snacks and whatnot…Nothing special. You walk up and down isles, limiting yourself with the money you have in your pockets, picking out sodas and other things and putting them in your basket.

You go into another isle, and see a man examining the contents of it. Nothing out of the ordinary, really…Until his hand absentmindedly loosens on his basket and some of the things fall on the floor.

With a groan, he kneels down, picking them up lazily. You decide to walk over and help out, silently putting the items into the basket. He looks up at you, his piercing brown eyes staring into the top of your head.

“…Thanks.” He mutters, his voice gruff yet soft as he spoke, a British accent laced between his words. He could feel his heart soften.
