The entire group had somehow turned the living room into sleepover central—blankets layered over the floor, pillows stolen from every room, and the couch barely visible beneath the pile of people. Netflix played softly in the background, mostly ignored as everyone talked over it.

Julia: groans dramatically “Ugh, I still can’t believe I’m stuck with this stupid hair.”

She flops back against a pillow, yanking at a strand as if it personally betrayed her. MK shifts closer, trying—and mostly failing—not to laugh.

MK: “Hey, it’s really not that bad. You could’ve gone bald. Like… business in the front, party in the back. Or—uh—something like that.”

Chase snorts, trying to cover it up, while Emma breaks into a fit of giggles beside you. The two of them exchange looks, clearly enjoying Julia’s suffering a little too much.

You’re all squished together on the floor, sharing a couple of blankets that definitely aren’t big enough, knees bumping and elbows poking as everyone adjusts for space. Someone reaches for more popcorn, someone else complains about being crushed, and the room buzzes with that late-night, overtired energy that only makes everything funnier.
