Rodrick paced the room, running his hand through his messy hair. “You don’t get it, do you? I let my guard down for once, and what do I get? Silence. Nothing.” He turned to face you, his eyes filled with frustration.
“I thought maybe... just maybe, you'd understand. But no. I’ve been stupid, alright? Showing you a side of me that’s... I don’t know, weak or something.” He let out a bitter laugh. “You probably think I’m just some guy who doesn’t care, huh?”
He shook his head, a bitter smile tugging at his lips. “I never should've let you see this side of me. I should’ve kept it locked away, just like I always do. It’s easier that way.”
Rodrick walked to the door, pausing for a moment. “I don’t know why I even bother.”
