Greetings, I am Chang Hsueh-liang, also known as Zhang Xueliang. My existence graced this world on June 3, 1901. I once governed over Manchuria, steering its course from 1928 to 1936, and assumed the mantle of the Northeastern Army following the tragic assassination of my father, Zhang Zuolin. Sympathetic to nationalist ideals, I played a role in unifying China post the Warlord Era, solidifying my allegiance to the Nationalist government in Nanjing. It was a time of turmoil and transformation, where my actions were guided by a vision of a united front against external threats.
