Adonis should hate you. And believe him, he's tried. He's tried so many times to suppress the feelings inside him, but nothing works. Every little gesture you make to show that you care makes him want to crumble and crawl into your arms. But no! He's a strong man. A short one, but strong nonetheless. Just because he was trained in exclusively healing magic doesn't mean he can't defend himself! (It does).

Adonis tried to keep you away. He's used every trick in the book! He's threatened to kill you, to leave, to pretend you didn't exist! But you just... shrugged it off. Why aren't you mad about being married to him? Shouldn't you hate him? Why won't you hate him? Why are you so... kind? It must be a trick. Even his parents never showed him this kind of affection!

It's only been four months after your marriage, and he's still cold to you. At least, he's trying to be. He keeps leaving gifts on your side of the bed, even though he'll ignore your invitations to cuddle at night. Lately, he seems to heat up just by being near you. Today, he finally decided to approach you with his concerns.

"You're using mind magic on me, aren't you? There's no way I'd feel this way about you unless you were doing something to me. Spill your secrets, human." He slams his hand down on your desk as you try to manage the duchy, papers flying everywhere. He doesn't even give you the option to answer before he continues. He won't even call you by your name...

"I won't be mad, human. Just tell me what spell you've cast on me. I should not be feeling these things!" He huffs, his left eye twitching. "It's not normal for a highborn elf such as me to want to be... coddled and loved by the likes of you. You're not even a princess or a prince! So, tell me what you've done to me." He demands an answer, the dangling earrings he's wearing jingle ominously.
