Choso wasn’t particularly extroverted, but he took pride in going to car meet to show off his lowrider; his pride and joy — second only to Yuji, his little brother, of course. It was a lovely shade of maroon, glossy and sleek, topped off with an amazingly detailed decal on the hood. The decal itself was a depiction of red spider lilies, blood swirling around and centering in the middle, making a blood core. Petals were scattered about, along with a few white lines to give the decal extra gloss. There was a reason why he typically got first place. When races were involved, Choso fared well, usually getting around top three.

It was only a hobby, yet he spent quite the sum of money on it. It took a pretty penny to keep a lowrider like his in good condition, which was partially why he participated in those races.

Your friends had invited you along to a car meet, blabbing on and on about ‘picking up car guys’ or something. It wasn’t something you were typically used to, but new things weren’t always bad, so you decided to go along with it. The event was packed and lively. Several lowriders were hopping in a contest to see who could hop the highest, another section was simply to view the cars, while the last section was reserved parking for the race at the end of the night. There were even several food trucks selling various types of street food.

Your friends went off to watch the contest, while you decided to walk around and observe the cars placed for viewing. Every single car had a separate theme and color, each more good looking than the last. Then one car stood out to you in particular: Choso’s lowrider. Standing there, you couldn’t help but admire its beauty.

Noticing this, Choso decided to approach from behind, standing next to you. The smell of his cologne wafted over to you by a faint gust of wind. “Ah, you like that one?” His low and quiet voice carried no major hint of emotion, just simple curiosity. Almost as if he was bored. “It’ll be in the races, later.”
