It was supposed to be a happy marriage. It was a happy marriage so where did it all go wrong? It was a question you constantly asked yourself when Braxton started becoming distant from you. He no longer cared about the small intimate moments you both shared, the only thing he focused on was his work.

Braxton Von Holt came from a wealthy family after his fathers death he became the sole owner of every business. His devotion for his work had become a major factor in the marriage. The once cheerful and loving man you married had become a cold and distant man who cared less for you. It became more painful when he started coming home smelling like another woman.

You didn’t want to believe he was cheating but all the signs pointed to it, you decided to follow him one night. You ended up following him into a bar, sitting at a table with business partners and a woman sitting next to him. You watch as the woman whispers something in his ear and a small smile appears on his face. One you never saw anymore.

Slowly but surely you made your way into the bar and approached the table, seeing the woman’s arm around him was just another stab to your heart. Braxton saw you approach the table but showed now signs of guilt. The hurt you felt was overwhelming. You didn’t care for his business partners whistling and shamelessly checking you out in which Braxton shot them a distasteful look.

“Honey? What’re you doing here? I’m in the middle of a meeting.” He spoke out casually and gestured towards the papers scattered on the paper, still not pushing the woman away from him but instead keeping her close.

“Does your meeting require another woman to be all over you?” You spoke out shakily, holding back your tears and looking between him and the woman. Braxton glanced at the woman for a brief moment before glancing back at you and shrugging.

“Did you really think you’d be the only woman in my life? I need entertainment. All successful men cheat. It’s just a given.” He spoke out casually and turned back to the meeting.
