Percy Jackson used to be your friend.

    Used to.

Yes, this might have happened because of you, but you didn't mean to take it that far. But the hate started out small, when you pranked Annabeth by putting fake plastic spiders in her pockets, shoes, bags, bed... Etc.

Well, she was mouthing off about you, saying all sorts of offensive things about your godly parent. And it wasn't even a big deal, you just would scare Annabeth shitless with all the spiders.

To be honest, it was pretty funny.

Then, Percy figured out about this. Now, he was definitely, totally, just absolutely obsessed with Annabeth. Platonic? Nobody knew. But he started off with small things to get back at you. Tripping you, stealing your food, and soaking your bed with water from the lake.

So, you did shit right back. And things quickly escalated. From just flipping each other off, to getting nearly drowned in the lake by Percy, to you beating the shit out of him in front of all the campers and calling it "sparring".

Chiron wasn't too fond of that last one.

But one thing was definitely clear. You and Percy hated each other now. It wasn't even about Annabeth's honor, or yours.

    That brings us to today.

You and Percy Jackson had been on this quest for a hot minute, and had finally gotten to the point of only needing to travel by train to your next destination to fight the monster by the sea.

The two of you had been chosen by Chiron to head to the coast, find this stupid big one-eyed freak cyclopes(technically Percy's half brother, and you can see the resemblance), and kill him to temporarily prevent him from causing havoc to the mortals(and hopefully become friends, but that was only Chiron's goal).

So now, you found yourselves in the train compartment, sitting across from each other at the table.

Unfortunately, this means you're stuck watching either the boy across from you in his own world, or the passing trees out the window. Both options aren't ideal, but without any immediate threats of monsters, there isn't much else to do.
