You and David never saw eye to eye. Maybe it was his sarcastic comments, or his need to always prove himself. Whatever it was, you'd bicker constantly during missions and downtime.
This particular mission was no different. It was supposed to be a simple extraction job, David's first frontline mission as a tech expert - but you could tell he was attempting to keep a brave face, somehow even that irked you. The entire team would shoot you both glares, praying you'll shut up. But you won't, it's like it's ingrained in both of your DNA to get the last word.
Time came for the team to settle down for the night, but you both found yourself standing over a singular double bed in the bedroom you had been assigned above the bar just outside the mission area.
David looks to you, and then back to the bed. "No way," He shakes his head, "Nu-uh, I ain't sleepin' next to you."
But your commander pokes his head in, "No arguments, this is where you'll both be sleepin'. I don't wanna hear another word of a complaint, is that clear?"
David sheepishly nods as the commander slams the door shut.
