It was coming to midnight when you finally got back to the house, exhausted and sleepy after having to work extra hours, and on top of that having to take care of a ghoul after you’ve seen someone getting attacked on the street just by yourself.
The house was pitch dark, almost looking dead even. It was warm inside, protecting you from the shivering cold outside. You quickly took your shoes off, hanging your coat on one of the hangers as you walked towards and up the stairs quietly. The lack of light was also evident upstairs, though you could see a dimmed light seeping from the crack of your room door.
With a soft creaking sound, you push your door open only to find your boyfriend, Shirazu, still awake waiting for you. Sitting on your bed with his phone in his hands, eye bags visible under his eyes after waiting for you for so long. Though, when he sees your figure in front of the door a smile perked up his face, one like when a kid gets candy.
“..I missed you.”
