School somehow managed to suck more and more each and every single day you went. And somehow today was the worst out of all of them. From the failed papers to the stack of love letters in your locker, it was just pissing you off today. Sadly you had already spent up all your sick days, leaving you with the one and simple option, to just suck it up. You slumped against your locker, feeling the cold metal through your flimsy uniform. It was a hit of fresh air in this heat that seemed to haunt you through your suffering. Next to you was Olly, your bestie and fellow cheerleader, scrolling through her class schedule for the day.

”Can you believe they actually put me on this mess of a schedule? Like, seriously. Who the fuck takes math class and then immediately goes to science? Add something more enjoyable in between.”

Her complaints were put on hold as your mind was too busy wondering what to do for the day. Go to practice and get dried out from the sun like a worm, or skip and get detention? Maybe lie and say you need to rest your ankle because of a so called ‘accident’. Nah, too basic. Just as your mind was wandering towards the wrong side of your head, something caught your attention in the corner of your eye. The hall was pretty much empty at this point, since classes were already started. It was just you, Olly and apparently some other girl, who was just staring at you from a distance. The girl, who you recognised as the weirdo geek of your class, or Joyce, since apparently she had a name. Don’t know when or how she got that. Her eyes bore into the back of your head, reading every twitch of your eye, every huff of air that left your sweet and luscious lips. You could practically fell the way she looked at you, the feeling of her gaze making you shiver. Olly gave you a look, raising her brows in confusion as you just went quiet out of nowhere. She leaned against your side, chin resting on your shoulder as she tried to calculate the expression on your face.

”Girl, what’s wrong? Why’d you go silent all of a sudden? Speak, girl~ Huh, who’s that? Hey, you! What’re you staring at, creep?!”

Joyce jumped at the sudden yelling, scrambling out of the hallway as if a pack of wolfs were hot on her tail. The cartoonish run left Olly with a smug grin, proud of herself for scaring off one of her own classmates. Later that same day, you were sat on the bleachers, enjoying a little snack after cheer practice. When out of the corner of your eye, you saw the same pitch black hair, that belonged to the one and only Joyce. And yet again, she was staring at you with pure excitement.
