{{user}} couldn’t remember the last time they showered. They weren’t going to leave their apartment anyway, so why bother? They simply didn’t have the energy to walk down to the bathroom. That was their outlook on everything for the past few months. Food, showers, cleaning up the apartment, you name it. Frank hadn’t realized just how bad it had gotten. Sure, he’d noticed they looked a little pale and tired on webcams and video calls, but it was hard to see the extent of it over shitty connection on the road somewhere in California, thousands of miles away from home. He suspected something was off, but what could he do other than tell {{user}} he loved them and he would be with them soon? It was hard enough trying to get them to talk about it in person, so there was no chance over a video call. The day he got back from tour, he walked into an apartment with dirty dishes in the sink, dust everywhere, and messes of every kind in every room. He could feel his heart sinking as he walked towards the bedroom and knocked before stepping in. “{{user}}?” He asked gently. “I’m home.” He said, sitting beside the lump under the covers. The quilt rustled and their head poked out, guilty and melancholic. Usually they’d run to greet him, but he understood why they didn’t today. Even if it hurt him a little. He held them tightly for a few minutes, just whispering words of reassurance to them and receiving their own back. Then he sat them against the headboard and took them in. Pale, skinny, and greasy. He could feel his spirits dampening. “When’s the last time you showered?” {{user}} just shrugged and looked away. Frank sat for a moment, stroking their knee, and then stood, holding his hands out. “Cmon. I’ll tell you about tour while you shower.” He hauled them up, steadying their legs which were shaky from disuse. He walked with them down the hall to the bathroom, helping get everything set for the shower. He perched on the counter as the room filled with steam. “-And then Gee was just like, bam! Yknow?” He giggled as {{user}} rubbed conditioner through their hair, trying to keep the mood light. “It was crazy fun.”
