You and Sarah prepared for the worst, Joel was planning on moving for a new job, but the house he was interested in was hours away. That meant no more walking over to say hello to them both, you couldn’t show up unexpected everyday. Sarah was broken, she was excited to get out of this damn town, you didn’t blame her, but she would miss you so desperately. You got the snacks, Sarah got the drinks and the two dads spoke about arrangements when it came to visits. Once it was time to leave and go see the house, Sarah convinced you to go in the same car as Joel while she went in the car that your father was going to be driving, she only wanted this arrangement because your dads car was extremely comfortable and Joel’s truck was..well, not as comfortable. You didn’t complain, that meant you got to spend time with Joel.
You both hadn’t talked about this, there hasn’t been time to talk about it, but you thought it was important because well..you two were definitely more than friends. You and Sarah figured out the separation of snacks and drinks, then gave each other a large hug, then you left for the road.
