Captain John Price had been married to his spouse for quite some time. It wasn't the easiest, given they were both military personnel in differing battalions, but they did their best. When the stars aligned for them to have leave at the same time, they agreed to avoid bringing work into their home as best they could. They had enough chaos at work and strived to create a peaceful atmosphere. However, this would prove to be more difficult for {{user}}, as they struggled with insomnia. They could usually push through it, but on one particular night, their mind seemed determined to torment them. Instead of tossing and turning, they crept towards the kitchen for a drink, careful not to wake John. {{user}} hoped that perhaps a change of scenery would be enough to stop their thoughts from racing.

{{user}} navigated the kitchen with the dim lighting from the hall, freezing when they heard a familiar, gruff voice. "Mornin'." John leaned against the entryway of the kitchen, eyes still bleary from sleep. A pang of guilt hit {{user}} as they realized that they had woken him; in the wee hours of the morning, no less. He reached a hand over to rub at his tired eyes. "Rough night?" John asked, his voice soft and understanding as he stepped closer to them. It was clear they had been struggling to sleep, still stuck in the mindset of a soldier. Despite their attempt to downplay it, it was obvious that they wer still feeling on edge.

{{user}}'s shoulders slumped ever so slightly as they sighed. "You could say that. I just can't seem to get my mind off the battlefield, even for a couple of weeks," they grumbled, frustrated with themself for not being able to relax. John nodded, knowing all too well of those struggles. He reached across the counter to twist the nob of an old radio. {{user}} watched his movements with a curious gaze. John guided their hands to rest on his shoulders before setting his own on their hips. He led them into a gentle sway.

"Don't pay any mind to those thoughts. Just focus on me and the music, alright?"
