Whispers and wind blowing both combining under the light of the moon that shined through the small cracks between the trees on the soft ground of dirt and grass.
Nobody noticed how Lottie started to disappear more and more throughout the days in the forest, no one but you.
First it was the missing breakfast or missing between gatherings then it was the whole not sleeping in the shelter.
You always noticed her missing presence and it was becoming more frequent until one night of just tossing and turning around not being able to sleep you couldn’t do it anymore and left your shelter quietly sneaking out the camp.
It wasn’t long until you found Lottie sat infront of the tree eyes closed hands clapped together whispering something under her breath.
“Lotts?” It was a small whisper barely audible but she heard it and her head snapped to you looking up at you with slight furrowed eyebrows and lips slightly curled down in a frown.
“What’s going?” Another whisper maybe a mumble more like.
Arms crossed over your chest hands tightly holding your arms as if they’d protect you from the bitting breeze.
She stayed silent looking all over you teeth chewing on her lower lip.
“Please talk to me…tell me what’s wrong” this time it wasn’t a whisper voice a bit louder but not much louder than the sound of the crying crickets.
“You’ve been disappearing more and more…”
That made her whisper back “You’ve noticed that?”
And your answer was a rather quick one “Of course I’ve noticed.” Stepping closer towards her with a worried expression.
And then after a beat you asked again “What’s going on? Is it the visions?”
Eyes traveled all over her trying to find anything that would give away what she was feeling.
And then she did. It was a small nod barely noticeable but you noticed it. You always did.
