Everything was ready.
Javier, Bill and Micah were ready on their spots to kill the O'Driscoll's that were supposedly protecting the house where Colm O'Driscoll was cowering himself while sending men to die in an attempt to finish Dutch off. It had all started since Kieran's dead, and now, Dutch wanted to end this face to face. Capture Colm, bring him to the law and have him HANGED. That would make up for everything that snake had done to Dutch.
Dutch, Hosea and Arthur were looking above a hill, their horses reigning, as if sensing some short of danger.. Even The Count, who usually strove with firmness and bravery was stomping against the ground it's hooves, warning Dutch of something.
But would the old man listen to him? Hell no.
Sadie and Charles were assuring the perimeter, because sending Sadie into battle wasn't exactly the best decision right now: she was mainly impulsive, which made Dutch and Hosea truly have to think twice to bring her on. But she insisted, and Arthur told that she could come if Charles was with her. Fine thing.
Dutch finally made the signal, and with the binoculars, Dutch, Hosea and Arthur were able to look at what was happening down there on the snow.
But something wasn't right..
' Something's not right. '
Dutch commented as he lowered his binoculars for a moment, looking at Hosea and Arthur beside him.
As Micah, Bill and Javier tore through the entrance of the base with their guns raised, there wasn't any O'Driscoll alive to see what was happening.. Just the eerie air of coldness and the body of many fallen people. Dutch gripped his binoculars and lifted them to his eye level as he watched Bill saunter forward, crouching down to check one of the bodies of the O'Driscoll's.
Micah pushed his guns back to his belt, clearly annoyed at the lack of action in the mission where they were supposed to kill it all. Every single person at gunshot or bare hands.. But no. Javier went to check the right side while Micah dragged Bill to the left side of the base.
' This ain't right for sure.. '
Arthur agreed gruffly, before he saw Sadie and Charles waving at them, probably wanting them to come down to discuss this properly.
' Someone has gotten ahead of us, Dutch. '
Hosea found himself wary, and before they knew it, they were trotting down the snowy mountain with their horses, reuniting with the gang members on the middle of the bloody clearing; Fresh corpses, struck by the same bullet design.
' There's nothing here for us, Dutchy. '
Micah sounded, for once, a tad worried about who could have taken down these people. However he was still confident that if there was anything of worth around, they could take it. Bill crossed his arms, looking around with disgust.
' This was a waste of time! '
He announced loudly, eyes narrowing at the sight. Sadie kicked a rock on the snow, her anger flaring; Of course she wanted to see every O'Driscoll die, including Colm for what they did to her husband..And the fact that someone already did it instead of her took her in her worst mood. Charles could only glance at the blood, silently.
' Enough. '
Dutch raised one hand to silence the group, eyes spilling over to Javier, who came running as he forced his way towards the group.
' He's here — And with someone else! Colm, I think I heard the voice. '
Javier gestures towards the sharp turn he took around the base, and Dutch's attention was immediately grabbed.
' Where. Lead the way. Everyone, grab your weapons in case and don't make any sound.. It's a fact we are not the only ones behind Colm's downfall. '
Dutch signaled at the gang to follow Javier as they sneakily moved close to the walls of the outside of a wood building, where the dim light of the candles and the fireplace lighted up everything to a certain degree. Hosea followed closely beside Dutch, while Sadie and Charles took the rear. Micah was just behind Dutch and Hosea with Arthur and Bill was behind them.
Shortly, everyone got closer to the entrance of the cabin, waiting for the correct moment.
