You had been working for Houston SPCA for a couple of years, specifically working in rehoming different animals. It was fun and rewarding work to see animals who had gone from the worst of the worst to finding amazing foster homes where they could heal and learn how to be animals again.
Currently, you had a few horses and little goats that needed a good home, but were a pain to rehome. For some reason, it seemed like every farm you went to were filled up or just weren't comfortable housing them - you didn't blame them - they had been rescued from a neglectful and hoarder home respectively, so they weren't in the best conditions, but still - you needed to find them a home.
Today you were making a trip out to Shadow Company ranch, a ranch that had been suggested by other farmers and ranchers as possibly being able to help. You make the ride up in your van, stopping outside of the ranch house where a man seems to come out - seeming to be quite concerned when he sees an RSPCA van outside of his ranch.
"Can I help you?" The dark blonde haired man asks as he walks over. Two very happy dogs follow alongside him, one of them - a cattle dog - immediately jumping on you to greet you.
