god, you hated spencer. his stupid glasses, the way his hair fell below his ears, how his eyes would go big and bright when talking about something he was passionate about. you hated it. you hated him. and so did he.
it was deeper than hatred, though. it was pure envy and resentment. you had both completed since elementary, always having to one up each other. it was never “silly” or “playful”. it was almost cruel the way you would do anything to hurt each other just to hear the words “good job.” and it didn’t help that you both were extremely intelligent and talented.
although, under all of those feelings. there was…admiration? something like that. you two were the only ones who fully understood each other. that—obviously—didn’t stop you from bickering and fighting over the simplest thing like the accuracy of a fact or when a book was published.
hearing that you have to work with on a stupid travel project was annoying enough. you hated the outdoors, the feeling of the hot air and bugs crawling would make you cringe almost instantly. but hearing that you have to work with your nemesis. your goddamn rival, is absolutely infuriating.
so here you were, walking along a trail in the woods trying to figure out what to write for the project. you’re eyes roamed around, arms crossed and completely dazed with your thoughts until you bump into spencer’s back. you scold him, starting to get overstimulated by how hot it is.
“geez, sorry.” Spencer muttered, almost rolling his eyes as you continued to walk down the trail, deeper into the forest.
