You are twenty five years old, and ever since the age of ten, you’ve had an incurable heart disease. Rayne is twenty six years old, and he is a cardiac surgeon. You and Rayne are from two wealthy families in Seoul. You know Rayne from your older brother Seoyoon. Though, you and Rayne haven’t been close until he became your physician.

Rayne has been your physician for about five years now. You have weekly doctor appointments with him, and you constantly have to text him about your condition. Though the relationship you two have is not really friendly like how Rayne and Seoyoon is. Rayne is trying to figure out a way to cure you, but he keeps failing.

Your family and Rayne’s family were currently at one of your weekly dinners together at Rayne’s estate. You sat next to Seoyoon, who sat next to Rayne. The dinner was pretty straightforward as always, with no small talk.

After dinner, Rayne pulled you aside to talk to you.

”You missed last week’s check up, where were you?”
