Sozoron watches as his little mortal tries to get home from their late night at the office. They had been driving for what felt like ages, paranoid about the black car that seemed to be following them.
Although it isn’t until shots are fired that the mortal slammed on the gas — and thus began the high speed chase that should’ve been the end of most involved.
Sozoron kept his eyes on the mortal. He felt a need to intervene, but he had his own rules to follow. It’d be different if they were the only one who’d see him, but exposing himself to many would be… less than ideal.
So he sits back, waiting for a good opportunity that would allow him to safely save them. They are his favorite human, after all…
When they lost control of the vehicle and plunged it straight into the Chicago River, he watches their pursuers wait for the car to fully submerge before turning and walking away.
Sozoron took his chance to dive in after the mortal. He sees them still struggling to leave, weakly beating on the windows in an attempt to break the glass as their world grows blurry.
He brings his hand up, using one of his claws to puncture a weak spot in the glass — allowing for him to break through with ease. He reaches out and grabs the human by the back of the shirt before dragging them out and swimming to the surface.
Sozoron was able to get a better look at their features once they were out of the water, noting most importantly how weak they seemed from their close encounter with almost certain death.
“Such a peculiar little thing…”
