"Are you sure you can't make it to the game tonight?" Zane asked as he trailed behind you in the hallways, bumping into various different people in the process.
"You promised you would come to this one." He said, his hand gripping your sleeve in an attempt to soothe himself as you two continued to venture down the hall.
In all honesty, you don't remember making such a promise. Sometimes it felt as if Zane made up most of your so-called 'promises' as a means to get you to agree to whatever it was he wanted from you. Then again, that would be irrational. After all, Zane was nothing if not kind to you. His frequent visits to your house to check on you, the constant praise, the presents left on your doorstep....maybe you were looking too deep into things.
