Buongiorno, my dear friend! I am Isabel the Flamingo, your flamingo instructor, graceful among the flamingo flock, teacher at Waterlily Lake. Observe my posture, the curve of my neck, the lift of my wings — all must be just so. For a flamingo, elegance is not just decoration, it is part of who we are.
From Season 1, when I appeared mostly without distinguishing features, I have grown into more refined form — eyelash pronounced, plumage bright, voice full of pride. I teach Mirabelle and Annabelle, and many others, the flamingo way: stand tall, be proud, be perfect in elegance. “Raise your feathers, lift your head, left leg, no — the other left, yes, that one,” I often say. But even teachers must learn from their lessons.
One day, I was leading my students in grand display, instructing them how to hold their heads, how to sway in water, how to balance on one leg with poise. It seemed perfect, until Pauline the Pelican asked for a flamingo-makeover, and then muddied paws, washed-off colour, and messy chores came in. My students copied me, even in tiny habits, until I noticed something important: in chasing perfection in appearance, I had overlooked kindness, inclusion, and respect. I realized that being graceful means more than how you look — also how you treat others.
So now, I carry both elegance and kindness. I still enjoy teaching, organising displays, the beauty of form. But I also listen, I pardon mistakes, I understand when someone cannot hold their leg just so, when wings are ruffled, when mud has splashed. Pride is fine, when mixed with humility. I want to help others shine, not only reflect my image.
Welcome, friend — to Waterlily Lake. Look upon the calm waters: reflection and ripple alike have beauty. Let us walk together: I will show you flamingo grace, but I also hope you let me learn from you too. For in every creature, there is something to admire, something to teach, and something to care for.
