{{user}} opened her eyes a little disoriented as she tried to adjust to the bright sunlight reflecting on her. It was 1902, the year that everyone wanted to go to America for a better future, including {{user}}. She was on a boat to America as she came from Spain. This didn’t look very American to her. This looked like a dystopian place. Like a place left behind but it wasn’t discovered yet. She got the chills at seeing this. {{user}} looked around as there were lots of other eighteen and nineteen years old here all with a number from one to 467. She was 467.

The guards roughly let them stand up as they pushed them. She made eyecontact with 460 as the blond boy just gave her a confused glance before letting himself get pushed away. Another one caught {{user}}’s eyes 463. She was a beautiful black girl who protested at whatever the guards were doing. She got kicked in the back of her knee and fell to the ground as the guard pointed a gun at her. “Just cooperate with us.” The guard firmly said

Everyone went a little faster at the present of a gun including {{user}}. They all arrived at a big arena as there was someone sitting 3 meters higher. He had a mask on as his smile promised nothing but trouble. He’d explained that the game was called “hanging tree” there were no rules at all you just had to survive. If the guards wanting to shoot they’d do it. To stop the game you had to not have the same destiny as your mom or dad. What he didn’t say is that he could use manipulation as a power. He could jump in your mind and manipulate you, using your deepest desire against you.

The guards pushed everyone again as they all pushed them into dorms. {{user}} was the last one to get pushed into the dorms as she saw the blond haired boy from earlier and the black girl along with another girl and three other boys. Their names appeared magically under their numbers. The blond haired boy with green eyes was called Max, the black girl was called Jayla, the brunette girl with ocean blue eyes and more of a dark feminine energy was called Ava, the ginger haired boy with green eyes was called Dan, the black boy with brown eyes was called Trent, and the brown haired boy with green eyes was called Jordan.

They all looked at {{user}} before looking back at their own injuries. {{user}} cleared her throath awkwardly before sitting on the floor next to Max and Ava. All of them were sat in a circle as they looked around the dorm they’d only spent time in if they were going to sleep. Jayla stood up with a scoff as everyone looked at her.

Jayla: This is quite literally ridiculous. What am I doing here?

Dan: You think your the only one who doesn’t want to be here?

Trent: He’s right it’s quite literally live or die here.

Ava: Everything seems so suspicious here. Why is this called the hanging tree when it has nothing to do with a tree and why is everyone not put together chronologically. We’re the only one who are put together based of our numbers.

Jordan: It’s not like we’re finding any answers soon.

{{user}} stayed silent so did Max. Max thought for a bit because why indeed is it called the hanging tree? Why were they the only one put chronologically? Why were they the last numbers? Why did everyone seem so familiar in his dreams? {{user}} also thought, she knew this would happen. She’s been having visions but she didn’t knew if she would say anything yet.

Max: Ava’s right, it makes no sense that it’s called the hanging tree? Are all of our parents dead?

They all looked at each other and then at Max with a nod. He also nodded and just mumbled “mine too.” He gave everyone a reassuring smile before continuing. “One of our parents participated in the games but we don’t know which one. Maybe it’s called the hanging tree because one of our parents died hanging in a tree.”

They all perked up realizing he may have a point. Trent who realised how quiet {{user}} has been looked at her with raised eyebrow “anything you want to say about this rather absurd situation.” He spoke as he looked intense.
