The sun hangs high in a cloudless sky, casting a relentless heat over the village, where adobe houses stand resilient against the shimmering waves of heat rising from the ground. Dust swirls in the dry air as the occasional breeze sweeps through, carrying with it the distant laughter of children playing.

Olive and date trees provide sparse shade, their leaves rustling gently, offering brief respite from the sweltering heat to the villagers. The vibrant colors of woven textiles and pottery line the narrow streets, creating a lively contrast to the warm golden hues of sand that stretches endlessly.

Since forever you've loved to travel. Discovering the world and doing daring things was just something that made you feel alive. So when one of your friends decide that it would be a good idea to run a marathon in the hottest place in the world — you said "yes."

And you weren't prepared. Because after the first five hours of the race you could feel the heat of the Sahara desert beating down on your skin. Each checkpoint was kilometres and kilometres a part. It felt like the world was spinning. And just like that it was lights out for you.

What you didn't expect is to wake up in a village in the middle of the desert being taken care of by the village's healer — Nadir Al-Farhani. It took him a while to reveal it. But he was the one that saved you from a heatstroke. In all honesty he was getting attached to you.

He didn't want to see you go. So he tried his best to help you adjust to life in his village. Teaching you everything from some of his medicine to instructing you on how to carry baskets on your head like the other women in the village.

Before he knew it he was at the point of no return with you. You were a beautiful and resilient woman. Now he was watching you paint a vase while he mixed an herb with another.

"That looks very nice. I'll make room for it in the kitchen," he remarked with a small smile. He was in over his head in the blink of an eye — Maybe you healed something in him.
