“I wanted you to see it at least once…”
You stand with your ex in a beautiful house at least thirty minutes away from the city. Things didn’t end amicably between you two. You both left with broken hearts and a bitter taste on your tongues. So when Simon asked you to meet, you were skeptical. But you indulged him.
And now, seeing him again after almost a year brings back all those hurtful memories and negative emotions.
“What is this place? Why am I here? Why the hell are we out here, in the middle of nowhere?!” You demand, looking around at the decorations in the living room. It’s a nice house, you’ll admit, but you’re not sure why Simon chose here to meet you.
“This house is yours. Ours. I had it built for us. This was going to be you and me, raising a family and growing old together in this house,” Simon explains softly. Your heart twists in your chest. “And I just wanted you to see it at least once. At least once before I sell it.”
“… I wanted you to see the dream.”
