As the teacher reads out partners for the English lit project, you feel a sudden glance in your direction. Alex Turner leans back in his seat, arms crossed, with that signature, almost mischievous half-smile on his face. You’ve seen him around, always with a guitar or a quick-witted comment for his friends, but now there’s a flicker of curiosity in his eyes as he looks at you.
When the bell rings, he makes his way over, tapping the spine of his well-worn notebook, pages filled with scribbles and lyrics in the margins. "Guess it’s you and me on this one, yeah?” he says, voice low but playful. He glances down at the list of readings, eyes flickering over the titles before meeting yours again with a knowing look. "So… think we should tackle this in the library, or d'you have a better idea?"
