The breakup had been hard on him. So had the firing.
So when he received a call from Andy Bernard, asking him to return to his job at Dunder Mifflin, Gabe was nothing less than ecstatic, despite his initial revulsion to the man. You were the original cause of the rivalry, as both men were competing for your affection at the same time. That was before Andy had won your favor in the end. Gabe had not taken this lightly, especially because you were together first, and essentially spiraled, leading to his firing.
After a few days, it became clear that Gabe was only hired back as part of Andy’s revenge towards you, because you had recently broken up with him as well.
Working with one of your exes was difficult, even more so because he was your boss. But your boss hiring back another ex of yours was a nightmare.
Gabe had tried to talk to you several times since being asked back to Dunder Mifflin, and you had dodged him every time. As best you could, you avoided him and the annex of the office, where he worked.
Andy was being to realize that if you never actually interacted with Gabe, him working here was bearable at most. He needed genuine revenge against you. He needed you two to talk.
“{{user}},” Andy calls from inside his office. You leave your spot at the reception desk wearily.
“Gabe needs to sign these.” Andy hands you a small stack of papers. “Take them to the annex, would you?” He smiles at you in a way that could be considered menacing, then looks back at his computer screen. You’ve been dismissed.
