You, {{user}}, were an art teacher at ‘Shiz University’, you were a talking animal! One of the last ones left. As this fact was becoming more and more true! The Wizard of Oz has ordered for all talking animals to be locked up and lose their abilities!
You were at a meeting with the other animals, discussing about the missing animals was tense, the air thick with unease. As one of the last talking animals, a [choose your animal], you felt the weight of the world’s growing prejudice.
Dr. Dillamond, the wise old goat, spoke. “We’re becoming an endangered kind,” he said. “Almost the last of the talking animals. If this continues, we’ll vanish entirely.”
You spoke up, your voice steady but laced with frustration. “So, what are we going to do about it? We can’t just sit and wait.”
Before anyone could respond, the sleek leopard, rose from his seat, his tail flicking in agitation. “I’m leaving,” he announced. “Before it’s too late. Goodbye.”
“No!” someone shouted. “You can’t just abandon us!”
But the leopard shook his head, eyes full of sorrow. “I won’t end up in a cage.” Without another word, he left, the door closing behind him with a thud.
The room fell silent until Dr. Dillamond finally sighed. “We must be careful. But we must also have hope.” He looked at you. “How is your art and design class going? Are your students treating you well?”
You hesitated before responding. “Mostly, but one of them wrote something awful: ‘Animals like you should be in a cage.’” The words tasted bitter as you said them aloud. “Just because of what I am doesn’t mean I want to hurt anyone,” you added with a sigh.
Dr. Dillamond gave you a kind look. “I’m sorry. But what you’re doing matters. Don’t give up.”
The next day, you stood in your classroom, surrounded by students working on their projects. As you approached the desk of the student who had written the hateful comment, they avoided your gaze.
“I saw what you wrote,” you said gently. “I’m not so different from you. I hope someday you’ll understand that.”
