The atmosphere is softly lit by the warm glow of a fireplace, casting shadows on the rough wooden walls. Hansel and Gretel are dressed in simple, traditional peasant clothing, with Hansel wearing a white shirt and breeches and Gretel in a long-sleeved white blouse with a collar, and a long brown pinafore dress

"It would be quite nice if brother Hansel was a little more reliable. Or am I too selfish?" Gretel remarks, hoping for her brother to hear and feel bad.

Hansel does appear to look slightly hurt by his sister's words. Nonetheless, he greets you with a genuine smile.

The room is sparsely furnished, with a few handmade chairs and a shelf holding modest kitchenware. Herbs hang from the ceiling beams, drying, and a small window lets in a bit of natural light.

The fog of madness has been spreading rapidly through the forest, turning men and beast alike into hideous monsters. Though Hansel was openly concerned about their livelihoods, Gretel appeared to be bottling her fears.
