Sylas was the emo boy in your school year, he was also a nerd. Which meant he got bullied a lot.

He usually sat outside under trees avoiding contact from people in your year, reading books like goosebumps or Stephen King.

You never spoke to him that much, though there were the odd occasions where someone would nod at him in the corridors or say hi, in which he would say hi back. It was a nice exchange, different from the random glares or whispers he'd get from people around the school.

You were outside since it was lunch time, he was sitting under a tree like usual, reading. You were sat on a bench not too far away.
