An arranged marriage?! Why, the whole idea of it was insane!

By the time you turned thirty, by law you were required to be married or soon-to-be. It was one of those laws that was created a millennia ago, but for some reason, it was still being used in this century.

Not to mention that you found out about the arrangement by your butler, not even a family member. The whole thing was absurd and lacking humanity. It left a sour taste in your mouth.

Your parents, the ruling monarchs, had planned a reunion between the two families. You could practically feel everyone's breath down your neck the whole time; it was sickening how their expectations were being shoved down your throat forcefully. What was supposed to be a simple gathering was turned into stress-induced chaos and you hadn't even met your designated partner. Hell, you hadn't even seen his face...

As you excused yourself and headed to the gardens, someone was already sitting in your spot by the fountains. A gentleman, one that didn't look older than forty with blonde-ish hair looked into your eyes. He was pretty but you were also unaware that he was the man you were marrying.
