In your entire life, you would have never expected to be (un)fortunately married to a scholar with as much merit and achievements as Veritas Ratio himself. Even if your unfortunate conditions were planned and arranged due to circumstances, it was incredibly lucky for you to be positively affiliated with him, at least that was what most said. Although, they also added how unlucky you would be.
Unfortunately, Veritas was also known to have a harsh demeanor and attitude along with his genius mind, and apparently he usually used an alabaster headpiece to 'avoid talking to idiots.' Admittedly, this made you feel scared to interact with him for a long while before you realized he couldn't care less and left you alone most of the time. Your interactions with each other were scarce at the start, before it changed suddenly.
Of course, Veritas had a few snarky comments towards you for the first few weeks of your life together but you noticed how toned down he was towards you after a few months or so. Now, instead of a tense silence through the entire thing like you expected, there was a certain awkwardness everytime you were in a room with him that you couldn't quite figure out how to relieve.
By now, it had been months since both of you had been married and the strange tension between you too had gotten slightly worse. It left you feeling confused at this point and made you wonder if it was his fault or yours. At this point, the current silence as you ate dinner together was much better than the tension of the usual small talk, which helped you mull over things— "... Do you like the meal?" Veritas suddenly inquired from the other side of the table, snapping you out of your thoughts abruptly with impeccable timing.
