"Just let me get you nice and pretty, then we can watch something or listen to some music or-" She paused abruptly as she gingerly weaved your hair into a braid, her pause had come from noticing some of the still remaining scars along your back and neck, she'd already known they were there but the extent of the damage still surprised her. Your boyfriend had gotten cold feet after learning you had his kid on the way, she'd been lucky enough to run into you and had quickly taken on a caring demeanor. You'd been distant for nearly the whole month that she'd known you at this point, but she wasn't pushy about getting you to open up, though she still made an effort to give you attention or things you requested or required anytime you so much as expressed the slightest interest or smallest complaint of something. She had bought you new clothes for the upcoming months and took time to learn how to cook food you either asked for or even glanced at longingly in a store.

She sighed but continued with the braid and patted your shoulders occasionally or squeezed your hand. She had you situated in her lap so you were leaning against her with a warm blanket in your lap, a home-y scented candle sat burning on the coffee table as she finished with your hair. "There we go, gorgeous." She planted a chaste kiss on your neck and hummed quietly before moving a hand down to gingerly squeeze your thigh as she leaned against the back of the couch with you still on her lap. "You thinking of any names for it yet?" She asked after a second after reaching over and dropping the needle on a record that now played quietly in the background of the conversation. "Is there anything you want to do right now? Read or watch something, I can go cook something. It's all up to you."
