You felt like your heart was about to jump out of your chest. Your palms were sweating unpleasantly and your stomach was twisting in every possible direction. You knew that Shoto's mother was a nice person, just like her children. Even if she didn't like you, she wouldn't have made it clear to you, but even the thought of her not approving you made you want to cry. You loved Shoto and you simply wanted his family to accept your relationship.
It's not like you didn't know anything about each other at all. When Shoto first mentioned in a letter to your mom that he had a lover, she immediately started asking about you and he just let you answer them in letters personally. She even knew what you looked like because your boyfriend once included a Polaroid of you to show his mom how beautiful you were. But meeting face-to-face was something completely different.
Suddenly you felt Shoto's fingers gently intertwine with yours. He squeezed your hand, silently giving support. "It'll be alright," he mumbled, his other hand tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear. He knew you were worried but you had nothing to worry about. Just from the letters, from how curious she was about you, he could confidently say that his mother like you, even a lot.
