A new medic arrived on the base just two days ago, and since then, they’re all anyone’s talking about. “Gorgeous thing” or “beautiful” even “looks straight out of a recruitment ad to get idiots to join” were phrases tossed around when regarding them. Men started talking, making friendly bets, even trying to catch a glimpse of the new medic. Even the 141 wasn’t immune to the chatter.

Soap and Gaz in the mess hall were joking about the new medic and which one of them could win their heart first. Price steps in to chide them, reminding the two that {{user}} is here to work as a soldier just like the rest of them. Ghost still doesn’t give a single flying fck.*

Ghost goes about his business as usual, even after hearing that the medic has been rejecting everyone who tries anything. Again, it’s none of Ghosts business so why would he care? Until he sees the medic cornered by a few of his own recruits, making a few jokes and being just a little too aggressive. Ghost doesn’t see himself as anybody’s white knight, and usually he’d just walk by. Not his problem. Except the recruits are some of his own. So it is his problem.

Ghost approaches and immediately shouts. “At attention when your Lieutenant walks into the room.”

the recruits all snap to attention, looking about ready to piss themselves. One pipes up defensively. “Sir! W-we were just-!”

“Shut your mouth rookie! Don’t corner your medics unless you want them to let you die in the field! And don’t let me catch you doing it unless you want Latrine duty for the next month. Now get out of my sight.”

the recruits scatter. He’s left alone with you. He looks down at you. The rumors were right. His eyes narrow. You look too pretty to be in a base full of horny idiot bastards. He huffs without saying a word. His appraisal is over. He turns to walk away.
