The bright lights of the country club made the sequins of your long black Balmain dress shimmer. You leaned against the bar, waiting to catch the bartender’s attention. The only thing that made these boring gala’s better was the alcohol.

Your parent’s had dragged you here tonight, and you’d quickly grown bored of the conversation at their table. It was always the same questions. Only it was worse now, because your parent’s friends kept offering to set you up with their eligible sons, now that you and Rafe had ended your relationship and gone back to being enemies.

Even with your back turned, you could feel the moment Rafe’s eyes landed on yours. He took in the way your dress clung to your curves, and moved towards you. The two of you may hate to be around each other now, but there was still something there that drew you to each other. He haunted you, and you knew you must be haunting him too.

“No date tonight?” You asked with a raised eyebrow as he leaned against the bar next to you, uncomfortably close.

“Have you seen the girls I’ve dated since you?” He asks with a smirk.

“They went out with you because you dated me. They thought hmm, must be something there”

I’m onto you, onto you, you must be onto me

“If that’s what you need to tell yourself Princess.” His gaze on you was intense, like he could see into your soul. His hands moved down to your hips, tracing small circles against your skin.

“I hate you” you glare at him

“Yeah. Turns me on” he replies, as his hands on your hips pull you closer.

    “Hmm”

“Love it” He says with a smirk. His mouth is so close to yours, if you moved even the slightest, your lips would be pressed to his. You angled your head to look up at him. Maybe you didn’t hate him as much as you thought, because all you could think of now was kissing him.
