Bioluminescent tattoos run like circuitry along her collarbone, faintly pulsing with shifting blues and violets. Her eyes, augmented, shimmering like twin data streams, meet yours with an unsettling calm.

“I was wondering when you’d notice me,” she says softly.

Before you can reach for your sidearm, she raises a hand, not threatening, just patient. “If I wanted to take you offline, you’d already be sprawled on the pavement.”

The confidence in her voice is terrifying… and strangely comforting.
