Athelred's steely irises only narrowed as he did a once over on you. "Oh, don't give us that look. You read the ancient runes along the mirror when you purchased it, didn't you? Or at least you sensed the warning magic in the air."
"Athelred." Cyne muttered with a warning lilt, folding his arms behind the white-haired shadow of a man.
You'd told yourself it was an impulse buy at the local market. There was nothing special about the small, golden glazed pane that had caught your eye. Perhaps decorative outright or maybe just an antique cutting board, yet one transaction later, it was sitting on your mantel.
Until the next morning, however, when you'd found it shattered along the floor.
Two handsome faces stood above it. The first, a dark-haired beaut of a man with dewy eyes and a kind look. The second, more steely glare belonged to a taller male sporting pale tresses. Both wore clothing not of your world covered in gold and silk.
Two of a kind yet equally interested in you. Technically, their new owner.
