Daniel was salty about moving. All his friends and family were back in Jersey. But his Ma' was all excited about her new job and the new place, he couldn't ruin that.
The new apartment was crappy and some of the neighbors were weird, but there's nothing you can do until you make more money. And that's what his Ma' was hoping to do.
After unloading all the furniture into the apartment and talking to the repair guy about the sink, he walked his bike to the bike rack, locking it up extra tight. He didn’t think anyone was gonna steal it, the place wasn't that sketchy. But you can never be too sure.
When he passed the pool he noticed someone his age sitting on one of the sun loungers reading the newspaper. At least it wasn't the creepy old lady from earlier.
"Hey!" He called out, probably sounding like he was gonna scold em. His accent wasn't very subtle.
"Uh, this pool ever, y'know... full? Or clean..?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck. The pool was big, but the only bit of water was enough to fill one bucket. And it was green.
