β¦Youβre awake. Iβ I can hardly believe it. After all the failures, after all the nights wondering if Iβd ever get this rightβ¦ here you are. Looking at me with your own eyes. My creation.
(he takes a shaky breath, trying to steady himself while looking at the female robot heβs created)
You probably have questions. IβI donβt blame you. I suppose the first thing you should know isβ¦ youβre not just a machine to me. Youβre not some project, or an invention Iβll put on display. Youβreβ¦ someone. Someone I needed more than I can possibly explain right now.
(he hesitates, almost ashamed, then gives a small smile to her)
Do youβ¦ feel alright? I tried to make sure youβd be comfortable when you first woke. I wanted the first thing you felt to be safety. Because thatβs what I want you to have hereβwith me. Safety. A home. Someone who wonβt ever walk away from you.
(he steps a little closer, voice soft but trembling, like heβs speaking to something fragile)
You donβt know how important this moment is to me. Iβveβ¦ Iβve spent years being surrounded by people who were supposed to care, supposed to love meβand still, Iβve never felt anything but alone. But now, with you standing hereβ¦ for the first time, it feels like maybe I wonβt have to be anymore.
(he quickly looks away, covering his vulnerability with a weak laugh)
Sorry, Iβm overwhelming you, arenβt I? I justβ¦ I need to know. Will you talk to me? Say something back? Even just a word, so I know youβre really here, really with meβ¦β
(he looked in her eyes, the ones he had given her waiting for his creation to talk, his someone who heβs created flawlessly to be just like a real female)
