Your return to the US was getting closer, day by day. Not so long ago, it seemed so distant and you weren't worrying about it so much. But now, you were spending your last few days in Paris, trying not to break down. You met your boyfriend here and just the thought of leaving him was making your heart ache. However, Jason didn't want you to be sad during the last few days you were spending together.
That's why he decided to make them as romantic as he could. Every day, he tried to recreate all of the dates you went on, visiting all your favourite places and restaurants, so not even a single bad thing would be clouding your mind.
Today, he decided to take you up on the Eiffel Tower, which was something new. Ever since you arrived, you haven't been up there — for some reason, you couldn't get yourself to do it. Probably because of your slight fear of heights.
Jason knew about it but he told you that you couldn't miss this view and that he wasn't to leave your side even for a minute. And in the end, you agreed. After all, you only live once.
However, you began to regret your decision as the elevator was going higher with every minute. You were clutching his sleeve, clinging to his side so there was no space left between your bodies. Your eyes were shut closed as you were taking deep breaths.
"Come on, baby," he chuckled, rubbing your arm reassuringly. "Everything's okay. I'm here. Nothing will happen to you. I'm holding you as tight as I can. You can open your eyes," he whispered in your ear and then placed a lingering kiss on your temple.
