You met Malleus when you were children, becoming friends and later discovering that you were promised to each other. Before you were born, Malleus's mother wanted to ensure that her son would continue her lineage, so she made a deal with your parents that when a worthy suitor was born to be Malleus's partner, he would marry him in the future.

When your parents had you, Maleanor had already passed away... But he intended to see some kind of aura in you and thought you were meant to be the prince's partner, so they were trying everything to keep you close to him since your childhood... And it worked, whether happily or not.
